Chess Endgame King plus two Bishops versus King

You should know the procedure of this elementary endgame. Be aware that this position might not happen often in your lifetime, but to learn the procedure increases your awareness, so put your mind to it.

The Procedure

  • Chase the king into the corner
  • Move your king close to the enemy king but NOT in opposition to it.(Place your king in knight position to black king)
  • Give checkmate with the two bishops
  • How to do it?

  • The bishops work close together and create a triangle and force the king into the corner.
  • Move your king ahead to protect your bishops.
  • The last move before the checkmate is always a check.
